Privacy
This privacy policy explains how we use personal information we collect about you when you use any of our Services, including any application in the JR Product Suite.
What information we collect about you
Authentication for our Services is provided by a third-party identity provider, Auth0.
When you create or access an account, we may receive:
- •Email address
- •Unique user identifier supplied by Auth0
We do not require or collect your name as part of our Services. However, your identity provider may collect additional information according to their own privacy practices.
When you use our Services, we may automatically collect technical information, including:
- •IP address
- •Browser type and version
- •Device type
- •Operating system
- •Usage and diagnostic information
- •Date and time of access
This information will be used when you confirm the terms and conditions for using the applications.
How we use the information about you
We do not keep a profile of you. If we receive your email address when you sign in to JR Studio, it is held in memory for the length of your session and is written into any JR files you create there.
When JR Studio saves a song, it also writes an edit history into the file: the time of each change, your Auth0 user identifier and email address, and your IP address. JR Studio finds your IP address by asking ipify (api.ipify.org). Anyone you give that file to can read this information.
When you accept our terms and conditions in an app, the app sends us a record that you accepted them, so that we can show which version of the terms was accepted. The record holds a random identifier for that installation of the app, the app version, the type of device (for example iPad or Mac), the platform, the browser user agent, your language and time zone, and the time you accepted. It does not include your name or email address.
Your practice, takes and what you share
Practice stats, levels, badges and awards, takes (recordings of you playing, in sound or video) and the notes you keep on them are stored only on your device. They are never sent to Enarche. You can turn off practice recording and clear all practice data in the app at any time.
You choose whether to share any of this with someone else, such as your teacher. You can:
- •Send takes and a practice report straight to another device in the same room, over Bluetooth or Wi‑Fi. Nothing goes through our servers or the internet, and the other person has to accept the transfer.
- •Share a take, a practice report or a song as a file, using Mail, AirDrop, Files or any other app you choose.
A practice report holds how long you practised on each day of the period, your streak, the pieces you played and the sections you looped with their tempos. It is sent under the name you type in. A take holds the recording. If you send a take, the notes you keep on it stay on your device. Once you have shared something, the person who receives it has their own copy, which we cannot see, change or delete. If you share a file through another app, that app’s own privacy policy applies.
When a teacher uses JRTeacher on the same iPad or Mac, JR Player writes a list of the songs, takes and practice reports it has sent or received into a folder that only those two apps can read, on that device.
Play Together and Transfer find nearby devices over Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi. While they are open, your device broadcasts a random name that changes every session, not your name or the name of your device. Songs and positions in a song are sent directly between devices and never go through our servers.
Cookies
Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard internet log information and visitor behaviour information. They are used to track visitor use of the website and to compile statistical reports on website activity. For further information visit www.aboutcookies.org or www.allaboutcookies.org. You can set your browser to reject cookies and the above websites tell you how to remove cookies from your browser. However, some of our website features may not function as a result.
Other websites
Our Services may contain links to other websites. This privacy policy only applies to Services provided directly by Enarche Ltd, including the JR Product Suite, so when you link to other websites you should read their own privacy policies.
3rd party services
Enarche uses other companies to provide parts of our Services. They have their own terms and privacy policies, and Enarche is not liable for any breach of privacy or security by them. They include:
- •Auth0, for signing in to JR Studio.
- •Apple, for JR Player Pro subscriptions bought in the App Store.
- •Microsoft Azure, which stores records of terms acceptance.
- •ipify, which JR Studio uses to find your IP address for a song’s edit history.
- •YouTube (Google), when you play a song that uses a YouTube video. The video plays in YouTube’s own player, so Google’s privacy policy applies to it.
Security
All Enarche websites, systems and JR Product Suite applications use HTTPS (or other as appropriate) encryption to secure data in transit.
Enarche disclaims all liability for any tampering with the internet user’s computer system by unauthorised parties. In this regard, Enarche expressly reminds users of the risk of viruses. It is recommended that the most recent operating system and browser versions be used, and that anti-virus software be installed and continually updated.
Changes to our policies
We keep our policies under regular review and we will place any updates on this web page. This policy was last updated on 16 October 2026.
